Great stuffed animal Jul 24, 2010

I got this as a gift for my niece who is 9 months old. I have the Red Cordy Roy Bear and have bought the Orange Aardvark for a nephew. These are wonderful stuffed animals! The texture is great for babies and the animals in the collection are so unique. You have your standard dog and cat but then there is a aardvark, crocodile, duck, hippo, bear and elephant. Plus Jellycat is such a high quality company. Anyway my sister tells me my niece loves the elephant and could not get enough of it. I love the Jellycat company and will continue to buy stuffed animals from them.

I had gotten the super soft Jellycat Woodland Bunny, but wound up returning her as she was just too small. But she did start my addiction to all things Jellycat so I decided to get this guy.
Imagine your softest, most perfectly worn sweatshirt or robe. This is what this elephant feels like. I was afraid he'd feel rough because corduroy isn't usually supple, but this feels more like terry cloth meets the underside of an old soft sweatshirt. And, the more you cuddle with him, the softer he gets!
Also, he's the perfect size for the crook of your arm. And his understuffed body (a trademark of Jellycat) is the perfect squishiness for hugs. But don't worry: understuffed doesn't mean cheap or not huggable! It means their animals are more floppy and squishy, instead of stiff and unyielding. His body also sits up nicely on his own thanks to beads in his bum and hands and feet. He's perfectly weighted.
Size-wise, Jellycat runs about two inches smaller than what they say so keep that in mind when choosing your Jellycat!
The color is vibrant, and even though he only has two little black eyes, he somehow manages to have a ton of expression. It's remarkable to me that two little black beads can emit so much expression. He's so sweet!
Oh, and don't worry about the safety of the eyes for wee ones. They are put in with a washer attached to the back of them and are made to withstand 18 pounds of force! They're not going anywhere!
I love Jellycat. It's a great company. When you buy from them know that you're spending responsibly. They pride themselves in putting all their toys through both European and US testing standards, and they make it a point to treat their employees fairly and equitably. They also have stringent standards in how their plushies are made down to the type of stitches done, etc.
All of this makes this the best plush elephant you could ask for!!

The corduroy makes this elephant something special from all his other stuffed animals. It is very well nmade like all the Jellybean products I have purchased so far. Not quite as cuddly as the others that have the floppy and soft arms and legs but still so very cute. Love the way this one sits by itelf, too.

I got this for my baby nephew after he was born and it's too cute! I love the jelly cat line but there aren't too many "manly" animals but this elephant is great!

This sweet elephant is soft and cuddly! My two year old daughter LOVES the Polly Dunbar books about Tilly and her friends. One of her favorite characters is Tumpty. I've purchased this lovable guy to be her Tumpty.
