 Good idea. Poor execution. May 23, 2009

This seemed like a good way to try different salts to finish my cooked dishes. Unfortunately, the packaging is a problem: the smokiness of the 'smoked salt' that leaks through to the other compartments. Hence, you really end up getting six varieties of smoked salt. I e-mailed the company to suggest they fix the packaging. The said they would look into it.

I ordered two of these collections for my mom and my sister for Christmas. One of the containers was missing one of the salts but after contacting the seller, they promptly sent me another one (Great Service!). The salts themselves are interesting, I love trying new stuff and so does my family. The only salt that I did not care for was the Eurasian Black Salt which had a sulpher-y eggy smell and taste which my sister did enjoy. My niece, who loves to lick some salt every now and again, loved the large crystals of the sea salt. Overall, good purchase.

As an aspiring chef in my own kitchen, I love trying new spices and herbs with different recipes. These salts are really unique and add a lot of flavor to food. I highly recommened this to anyone who loves to cook.

Love the different salts. I never knew there were so many different kinds. The smoked is really good rubbed into a good steak with a little pepper and then grilled.
